Connie Ellen Baker, 45, of Nampa passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015 at her home surrounded by her husband Sid and most of her family. Connie was born January 10, 1970 to William and Peggy (Hamilton) Churchman in Richland, Washington. She was raised in the Tri-City area in Washington. After the death of her mother (1987) she went to live with her sister Betty Williams and her family. When they moved to Idaho, Connie moved with them. It was in Idaho that they began investigating The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and decided to become members. Connie, being terrified of water, faced her fears and was baptized. Connie loved the people in the church and especially felt a kinship to John and Nola Waite. While attending a friend's wedding reception she met Sidney Baker. They became instant friends and began dating. They were married in the Boise LDS Temple for time and all eternity on March 21, 1989. To this union a sweet baby girl, Tonya, was born on October 1, 1990. Thirteen months later, twin boys, Matthew and Mark joined the family. In 2009, Connie began to have health problems. We almost lost her at that time. It seemed that with each year that passed another problem would present another challenge for Connie. Close to the end of 2013 she lost her ability to get out of bed. We are thankful for the caregiver that helped us take care of Connie...even to the very end. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert, who died in infancy. She is survived by her husband and her children; one grandchild, Susan Baker; her brother Steve Churchman and sister Betty Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10 at the Nampa 16th Ward LDS Chapel, 504 11th Ave N. in Nampa with a viewing to be held from 10 to 10:45 prior to the services.
