Martha Mallory

Martha Loosli Mallory was born 19 March 1933 in Rupert, Idaho to Orville Lynn and Llewellyn Harris Loosli and was the ninth of ten children. Martha passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 9, 2020. She did the majority of her growing up years in Nampa, Idaho, where she met her husband, Athel Dean in 1950. They were married two years later on September 30, 1952 in Boise, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in April of 1958. Athel was in the Navy when they married and lived in Southern California before settling in Vallejo, California where he was employed at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard. While living in Vallejo, their four daughters were born. When their oldest was twelve, they moved from Vallejo to Napa, where they stayed for 38 years before moving back to Nampa, Idaho in 2005. Martha was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church was a vital part of her life. She served throughout her life whenever she was called. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and was a wonderful example to those who knew her. She was a meticulous housekeeper and liked to keep busy. She had many hobbies including gardening, family history work, needle point, painting, rock and fossil hunting, wire wrapping jewelry, bird watching, and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and children. She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers and sisters; grandson Jeremy Abbott; great-grandsons Ian Wood and Joshua Narita. Martha is survived by her husband Athel Mallory; daughters: Karen (and Donald) Abbott of Eugene, Oregon, Sue (and Philip) Titus of North Salt Lake, Utah, Jana (and Hiromi) Narita of Napa, California, and Rebecca (and William) Terry of Vallejo, California. She's also survived by 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; one sister Athalie Gravatt, along with beloved nieces and nephews.
