Janeen (Wilson) Nelson passed away peacefully February 22, 2024, at the age of 84 in Nampa, Idaho. She was born on April 2, 1939, in Butte, Montana, to parents Var D. Wilson and Leora Ethel (Olsen) (Wilson) Jones. Janeen will be lovingly remembered by her surviving family, especially her nephew Jason Wilson and his daughters Taylor, Elle and Chloe Wilson. Although Janeen did not have children of her own her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart, she will be missed by them all. Janeen grew up on Sunny Slope, in rural Canyon County, ID and graduated from Marsing High School. Although Janeen was born with cerebral palsy, the afflictions of her physical body never stood in her way. Janeen spent her young adult life in SLC before moving to the Boise area and working for Deseret Industries in Boise. Janeen met and married Richard Nelson in the Salt Lake Temple on February 2, 1976. Richard and Janeen made their home in Boise, Idaho. Janeen dedicated her life to being a homemaker, creating a warm and loving environment for her family. She found joy in genealogy, crafts, adopting adult cats from the Humane Society, spending free time with friends and family. Janeen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in Salt Lake City. She had a deep testimony of Jesus Christ; she was able to find solace and community in her place of worship. Janeen enjoyed going to the temple and was elated when the Boise Temple was built, just a block from her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Nelson, parents Var D. Wilson and Leora Jones, Sister Joan Spath and Brothers Jay and Gayle Wilson. Janeen will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. The family would like to thank all those in Janeen’s community both in and out of the church that supported and loved Janeen along her life journey. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Janeen's life will be held March 1, at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing starting at 9:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 6111 Birch Ln, Nampa, ID 83687. Zeyer Funeral Chapel at 83 N Midland Blvd, Nampa, ID 83651, is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
