Jim Glenn Chrz was born January 22, 1930 in Perry, Oklahoma to William "Bill" and Opal Loveless Chrz and passed away at his home in Nampa, Idaho, March 19, 2021. His wife Sharon and family members were with him as he passed. Oklahoma was a special place for Jim. His grandfather Anton came to the United States in 1882 from Bohemia to find a better life. In 1893, Anton was in the "Cherokee Strip Land Rush" and staked out a homestead. That parcel off and is still in the Chrz family. His family moved to Idaho in 1934 due to the Dust Bowl. They stayed with his aunt and uncle, Launa and Jonas Bass, until his father could find work and a place for them to live. They lived on a farm in Nampa and then moved into Caldwell where his father worked at the O K Livestock Sale Yard. But they moved back to Nampa and lived near Orchard and Midway, not far from Jim and Sharon's present home. In 1945 his parents bought a farm on Franklin Lane in Caldwell. He attended school in Nampa and Caldwell. His mother died October 21, 1948 that left a large hole in the family. As a teenager he worked for George Weitz and Sons and Crookham's Seed Company. Jim was inducted into the U.S. Army of February 13, 1951 and served in the Korean War. In 1953, Jim worked with his uncle Otto Chrz in Twin Falls testing for oil and natural gas. He then went into construction as a crane operator working on the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho, and the old hospital in Nampa. Then he went to work for J.R. Simplot Livestock in Caldwell. After retirement, he worked a short time in maintenance for the J.C. Penney's store in the Boise Mall. During his younger years, he and his brother Bob enjoyed competing in area rodeos. Later he enjoyed team roping with several partners, and won a number of belt buckles. He and Sharon traveled the western part of the U.S. in their motor home to enjoy his hobby. He loved riding his horses and going to rodeos. He married Sharon Johnson on January 18, 1969 in Elko, Nevada. They celebrated their 50th Anniversary two years ago. Jim was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Sharon served in the Boise Temple for nine and half years. They went on a senior mission to Nauvoo, Illinois and served int eh Nauvoo Temple for six months. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Dorothy Kirtley; four brothers: Robert, Roy and two infant brothers; his daughter Patricia Gaylene; two stepsons Gery and Thad Rawlinson; a step-son-in-law Clyde Wethington. He is survived by his wife Sharon; his brothers Dale (Sandy) Chrz and Bill (Juanita) Chrz; and sister-in-law Mary Lou Chrz; his son Jim Glenn Jr. (Jacqueline) Chrz; granddaughter Bobbie Chrz and her son Rylan Drake Chrz-Petersen; his granddaughter Samantha Turnbull and her daughter Kayleigh Turnbull; his stepson Mark (Theresa) Rawlinson; step-daughter Rosann Wethington and her son Shane and daughter Selanie; Step daughter-in-law Judy Rawlinson; five nieces; ten nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Special thanks to the Homewatch CareGivers and Heart N' Home Hospice for the outstanding care they gave Jim and Sharon during this time. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, March 30 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa with a viewing from 11 to 1 PM prior to the services.
