Owen Kless Murray, 86, a longtime resident of Nampa, Idaho passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017 in South Jordan, Utah, surrounded by family members. Kless was born on April 12, 1931 in Preston, Idaho to Owen and Norma (Monson) Murray and spent his early years in Clifton, Idaho. He moved with his family to Nampa, Idaho in 1946 where he attended Nampa High School, met and married his sweetheart Elva Belle Fiet, and started his family. Kless, Elva and family lived in Parma, Idaho, Reseda, California, and Hazelton, Idaho before returning to Nampa in 1969 and purchasing the current home on Happy Valley Road. His interests included camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, horses, watching kids' and grandkids' sports, and just being with his family. He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions during his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Norma Murray; his sweetheart Elva (Fiet) Murray; brothers Quinn and Scott Murray; son Dale Murray; and granddaughter Danielle Cantrell. He is survived by his children: Karen (Bruce) Hodge of Victor, Idaho, Steve (Sally) Murray of West Jordan, Utah, and Diane Cantrell of Boise, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Phillip (Vicki) Murray of Ephraim, Utah; sisters: Yvonne (Lowell) Glenn of Orem, Utah, Kathy (Roger) Sorenson of Payson, Utah, Mel (George) Steiner of St. Anthony, Idaho; and a large number of extended family.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at the LDS Chapel located at 504 11th Ave. N. in Nampa. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 16 at Zeyer Funeral Chapel, 83 N Midland Blvd in Nampa and again at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, prior to the services.
