Valora Gail Kreller

Valora Gail Kreller (Hoagland), 79, was born May 16, 1941 in Nampa, Idaho and reunited with her Redeemer on November 26, 2020, from El Cajon, California. Valora was preceded in death by her parents Elenora and Willie Hoagland; her brother Lamar Hoagland; and her sisters: Arlene Conover, Deva Muchow, and Shirley Hughes. She is survived by her sons Marion Sundwall and Jose Ochoa; daughters Marisa Janine-Page and Mitzi Scott; stepson Frederick Kreller; grandchildren: Guy, Amanda, Gary, Leslie, Nathan, Blake, Viviana, Diego, Dylan, Chamaigne, Kyler, Justin, Sage, Isaac, Megan, Frederick, and Evelyn Rose; and great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Ian, Asher, Aubrey, Maxwell, Hazel, Maverick, Blaine, Maeve, Tryzhai, Takaiya, Taylen, Barrett, and Jaxson. Loved by all as "Gail," she revealed in the last decade of her life that she loved and preferred to be called by her first name, Valora. She was proudly raised as a farmer's daughter in Melba, Idaho where her father boasted of his seven Gosh Darn Girls who nearly made an entire fast-pitch softball team. In addition to playing First base, Valora was a talented majorette. She graduated from Melba High School in 1959 and went on to play semi-professional softball. Valora went to business-college where she met her lifelong friend Dixie Bybee. She worked for more than two decades as an administrative secretary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved serving The Church and her fellow members with unparalleled compassion. Members remember her as the visiting teacher who would see a member struggling and show up with a warm-cooked meal the very next day. Her most prized Church calling, however, was as Primary President. She loved the little children. Valora was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. It is her legacy for her family to teasingly-quibble over who was her favorite child, then grandchild, and later great-grandchild. The truth is, her heart was so big, strong, and full of unconditional love that she had plenty of love for every one of us to be her favorite! (and a few nieces and nephews too!) Valora had many talents that she shared with all whose life she touched, from sewing beautiful dresses or personalized quilts, to crocheting each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren blankets, to personalized scrap-crafting birthday and Christmas cards. Valora shared her final years with her daughters Mitzi and Marisa, living in Bremerton, Washington in the warm months and El Cajon, California in the winter. The epitome of her life, she spent her final moments enjoying the musical talents of her children and grandchildren, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, professing her love for her family, and praying with her daughters. A memorial and life celebration service will be held on December 12, 2020 at 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 11288 Roosevelt Avenue, Nampa, ID 83686. Her body will be laid to rest next to her parents, sister, and brother in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in the Latter-day Saints garden.
