Gerald Douglas Wagner, 75, of Payette, Idaho, entered in to rest late Friday, January 13, 2017 peacefully. He was born in Forrest Grove, Oregon to Rose M. Wagner, and Lawrence D. Wagner on September 22, 1941, and is the oldest of 8 children. On September 25, 1964, Gerald married his beautiful wife, Myra F. Mecham. He served in the US Army, from which he was honorably discharged to join the Air National Guard, which he retired from in 2001. He worked 21 years in law enforcement as a Police Officer in Baker County, Oregon, and as a deputy, from which he retired, in Caldwell, Idaho; Canyon County Sheriff's Office. In 2001 he got his CDL and started a career in driving truck. He started with Swift, went on to work for CB, then finished his career with TranSystems in 2015. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Myra; 1 son Tony of Rocklin, California; 2 daughters Dinease of Notus, Idaho and Michelle Russell of Payette, Idaho; 8 grandchildren: Kyle Rogers, Kevin and Shayne Barenberg, Brooke, Brittany, and Blake Wagner, Kiona and Mariah Rogers; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Gary, David, and Daniel; 1 sister, Diane; and several nieces, and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers: Dean, Claire, and Greg.The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at St. Luke's, downtown Boise, who helped make Gerald comfortable and took such great care of him during his final days.
