Geralyn Anderton Brown

Geralyn Anderton Brown, 69, of San Diego, California passed away peacefully July 10, 2019 while surrounded by loved ones. Before her death she put up a long and courageous fight against cancer. Geralyn was born on January 21, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Gerald and Lila Anderton. She was the second oldest of five girls and three boys. Geralyn was raised in Boise, Idaho, where she was taught to work hard and serve others while she also gained an appreciation and love of learning. This led her to obtain her bachelor's degree in education from Brigham Young University, where she graduated cum laude in 1972. Geralyn had the desire and was blessed with the opportunity to serve a full-time mission for her church in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon returning from her mission, Geralyn made her way to San Diego, where she met the love of her life, Frank. Geralyn and Frank were sealed in the Salt Lake Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 4, 1977. They were blessed with six children. She was a selfless wife, mother, meemaw, grandmother and friend. Our sweet mom's love and care for her children and grandchildren were unmatched, and every one of them knew and felt her unconditional love. She always focused on doing special things for those in her life. Her example has taught each of us the true importance of life and what it means to love as Christ did. Words can't express our deep sorrow and immense love for our dear mom. We will forever have imprinted in our hearts her undeniable and abounding love. We know we will see our sweet mother again. Geralyn was preceded in death by her first-born child, Jared Wayne, and her loving parents. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Frank Glenn Brown; five children: Leticia (David) Fuhriman, Emi (Jon) Lang, Coreena (Erik) Lee, Mollie (Garrett) Glauser and Glenn Brown; two foster sons Thomas and Alexander Morris; and eight beautiful grandchildren: Eugene, Jeremiah and Levi Fuhriman, Tegan and Addison Lang, and Emeri, Grant and Harper Lee. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6840 Osler St., San Diego, CA 92111. Geralyn will then be laid to rest with Jared at Dry Creek Cemetery, 9600 Hill Road in Boise, Idaho, at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 24, 2019. A special thank you to Medical Oncology Associates of San Diego and Sharp HospiceCare, specifically Angella and Maria, for their professionalism, love and devotion to our mother.
