Joseph (Joe) Russell White, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Luke's Meridian after an intense battle with cancer. He was the husband of Mary Kathleen O'Neill for the past 42 years.Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on November 30, 1950, he was the firstborn son of Joseph Bradford White & Gloria Claire Wynott White. Joe graduated from Abbington High School in Abbington, Massachusetts. Entering the service of the US Army July 26, 1974, Joe served two international assignments and throughout the United States, retiring as E-7, Sergeant First Class, on July 31, 2000. In retirement he studied computer science and received an Associate of Applied Science from Boise State University in 2005.While Joe made his home in Nampa, Idaho, he never fully lost his New England accent, faithfully supporting the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots, and Celtics. He enjoyed biking, golfing, shooting, motorcycles, skydiving, technology, and playing with his grandkids.Joe will be remembered for his loyalty, dedication to his family, quiet strength, and sarcastic sense of humor. He had a particular knack for researching and finding solutions to fix just about anything.He is survived by his wife Mary; daughters Sarah (Kevin) Rigenhagen and Virginia (Brent) Earwicker; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters Kathy and Christine; and brothers Stephen and Edward. He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and son Christopher.The celebration of Joe's life will be held on August 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church, 1415 W Lone Star Rd in Nampa, Idaho, 83651. Military funeral honors will follow at exactly 2:00 p.m. at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd in Boise, ID 83714.
