Terrell "Terry" J. Stewart, 62, of Marsing, Idaho died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at his home. Terry was born February 27, 1953 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Alden Jay and Ann Jo Stewart. He was the oldest of his four siblings (Brian Stewart, Warren Stewart, Helen McNabb and Esther Portela). He grew up in a small country home that his father built in the Lost River Valley near Arco, Idaho. He learned to hunt and fish from his father which became his passion throughout his life. He met his future wife Marci Ann Peterson while attending Butte County High School. After graduation they were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 5, 1971. Together they have nine children, five girls and four boys. He worked hard to make a living for his family. He was a carpenter by trade and loved to build things with his hands. Together with his father Jay they ran a construction business and built and remodeled several houses and buildings throughout the Lost River Valley. In 1995 he moved his family from the Lost River Valley to Homedale, Idaho to start a career as a construction superintendent. He worked at this job until 1999 when he got the opportunity to teach his passion for building to High School Students. He became a teacher at Canyon Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA). He loved teaching kids and was able to complete the construction of nine houses and an office complex with his crew of students. In 2009 he was forced to retire from his teaching job after a severe ATV accident that left him partially disabled. It was also discovered after the accident that he had kidney cancer and had to have one of his kidneys removed. He made it through these tough times and regained most of his mobility. He spent the remainder of his life pursuing his passion of hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Terry is survived by his wife, Marci Ann Stewart; his nine children: daughter Amy Lance and husband Terry, son Jason Stewart and wife Cora, son Michael Stewart and wife Kimberly, son Phillip Stewart and wife Danika, daughter Danielle Stewart, daughter Ashley Maestas and husband Ryan, son Andrew Stewart and wife Sara, daughter Lisa Stewart and daughter Morgan Stewart; 23 Grandchildren; two brothers Brian and wife Leslie, Warren and wife Krisele; two sisters Helen and husband Mark McNabb, Esther and husband Stewart Portela. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 6, at the Marsing First Ward LDS Chapel, 215 S. 3rd Ave W. in Marsing with a viewing to be held from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the services.
